The Chair of the Committee welcomes today the official launch of the College of Policing’s Code of Ethics.

More detail on the launch of the Code can be found here.

Lord Bew, Chair of the Committee on Standards in Public Life said:

“The Committee welcomes the new Code of Ethics for the police. It is timely, in the current climate of police and public concern about the behaviour of particular police officers and police forces. To be effective and achieve real culture change the new code must be reinforced, actively implemented and led from the top. High standards of behaviour should be encouraged and rewarded and all employees should feel able and supported to challenge unethical behaviour at any level.”
