Lord-Lieutenant for South Yorkshire: Andrew Coombe

Mr Andrew Coombe is appointed as Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for South Yorkshire.

The Queen has been pleased to appoint Mr Andrew Coombe DL FCA as Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of South Yorkshire to succeed Mr David Moody when he retires on 7 April 2015.

Biographical Notes

Andrew Coombe, 68, is a retired chartered accountant and lawyer who has also served in the Territorial Army. A former High Sheriff, he has had a broad portfolio of charitable work, as a trustee to St Luke’s Hospice, Broomgrove Nursing Home, the Bluecoat Educational Trust and the Freshgate Foundation. He is Chair of the Sheffield Cathedral Council. He has been a non-executive director of Sheffield University Students’ Union. He has a particular interest in developing community cohesion and serves as Secretary of the South Yorkshire Muslim Community Forum. Mr Coombe lives in Sheffield with his wife, Sue. He has two grown-up children and four grandchildren.
