Lord-Lieutenant of South Glamorgan: Morfudd Meredith
Morfudd Meredith is appointed as Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of South Glamorgan.
The Queen has been pleased to appoint Mrs Morfudd Ann Meredith as Lord-Lieutenant of South Glamorgan to succeed Dr Peter Beck, who retires on 4 July 2016.
Biographical notes
Mrs Morfudd Meredith lives in Cowbridge and is a retired Cardiff solicitor. She is currently a partner in the family farming business and is a Vice-President and council member of the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society. She is a former High Sheriff of South Glamorgan.
Mrs Meredith has always been active in the voluntary sector. She is a member of the Llantrithyd Parochial Church Council, a trustee of the High Sheriff of Glamorgan Award Trust, Chair of the Cowbridge Barnardo’s Group and a trustee of the Welsh Sinfonia Orchestra.
Her previous roles include Chair of the Governing Body of Ysgol lolo Morganwg, Chair of Barnardo’s Cymru Centenary Committee, Legal Advisor for Arpa Viva Cymru 7th European Harp Symposium and National Eisteddfod of Wales Llandow Committee member. She is a Friend of the Welsh Opera.
She is married with 3 children and is a fluent Welsh speaker.
