Lord Price visits Slovenia
Minister of State Lord Price attended Sports Meets Business conference in Slovenia, to support bilateral trade and set out UK's vision of future trading relationship with the EU.
On 11 October Lord Price, Minister of State at the Department for International Trade, attended the Sports Meets Business conference in Slovenia. The Minister delivered a key note address in which he set out the UK’s vision of future trading relationship with the EU.
Lord Price said:
Our bilateral trade with Slovenia has increased over the past five years to over £700 million last year, and there is an opportunity to take our bilateral trade and investment to the next level. I believe that free and fair trade, like sport, can also transcend political difference and ultimately build trust, foster peace and bring prosperity to all.
The Minister later met with Economy Minister Zdravko Počivalšek. The pair discussed deepening the areas of cooperation between the two countries following the EU referendum. The Minister restated the UK’s interest in enhanced bilateral trade in the future.
Following his attendance at the conference, Lord Price joined a reception for Slovene business leaders. He listened to their concerns regarding the future trade with the UK and reassured them that Britain remains open for business.
