The annual ‘Printemps des Poetes’ poetry festival has been taken as a welcome opportunity to highlight and support British culture by presenting it to a wide Luxembourg audience. This year the event for the first time will have a British participant and Gillian’s acceptance of the Ambassador’s invitation met with very positive feedback, not least from the festival organisers, who very much had been hoping to be able to include English language poetry reading in their 3 day programme. The programme includes readings at prestigious places such as the Abbé Neumϋnster and the Kulturfabrik in Esch as well as visits to a couple of secondary schools.

In addition to the official festival programme, Ambassador Walpole is looking forward to visiting St.George’s International Schools and the Chapter1 English book store with Gillian Clarke before meeting up with some members of the local Welsh community.

Please see the complete festival programme on the Printemps des Poetes website.
