Manila: Winners of GREAT British Shopping Contest unveiled
The winners of the GREAT British Shopping Contest were announced on 5 December during the finale and fashion show at the Mega Fashion Hall.
United Kingdom Trade & Investment (UKTI) Director Iain Mansfield and SM SVP for Marketing Millie Dizon with some of the winners of the GREAT British Shopping Contest.
From high-end shops in Oxford Street to bohemian boutiques in Glasgow’s West End, the UK is a shopper’s paradise.
Two lucky shoppers will experience the UK firsthand in the British Embassy’s GREAT British Shopping Contest. Meanwhile, other winners will go on shopping sprees for British brands closer to home. Prizes include a trip for two to London courtesy of Etihad Airways with £300 pocket money from HSBC; a Php50,000 shopping spree in Marks & Spencer; and gift vouchers of up to Php10,000.
The British Embassy in cooperation with SM Megamall announced the contest winners on December 5 at the trendy Mega Fashion Hall in SM Megamall. Jeshiah Christa Cruz of Koronadal City won the grand prize, which was presented by UK Trade and Investment Director, Iain Mansfield.
Mr Mansfield thanked everyone who joined the contest:
We are delighted that Filipinos have embraced British brands, and we expect to see even more British labels in the Philippines soon. British fashion has something to suit every taste and style, and the brands in this contest show that that quality doesn’t have to come with a hefty price tag. A big congratulations to all our winners.
Audiences were treated to a runway show featuring quality British apparel available in the Philippines. Conceptualised as a showcase of accessible fashion, the models who strutted the catwalk were everyday people and British diplomats.
14 GREAT British brands participated: Burton, Clarks, Debenhams, Essensuals, French Sole, Lee Cooper, Marks & Spencer, MINI Lifestyle Products, ROOS, Speedo, Toni & Guy, Warehouse, and brands found in Toby’s: Berghaus and Mitre.
