Minister for Africa condemns Boko Haram attacks
Grant Shapps condemns appalling attacks in Borno, Nigeria, which have killed over 100 during the celebration of Eid Al-Fitr.
Speaking following the attacks, Minister for Africa, Grant Shapps, said:
I am horrified by the attacks in North East Nigeria over the last two days. Over 100 people have been killed including in an attack targeting Muslim worshippers during Eid Al-Fitr. My thoughts and sympathies are with the victims and their families.
Boko Haram terrorist attacks in Nigeria and in the wider region have brought untold misery and suffering to people of all faiths and backgrounds. The UK remains unwavering in our resolve to support Nigeria and its neighbours in their fight against terrorism.
