Minister for Europe "shocked and saddened" by blast in Minsk, Belarus

Minister for Europe David Lidington said that the UK condemns acts of terrorism following the blast in a metro station in Minsk, Belarus on 11 April.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

The Foreign Office Minister said:

“I am deeply shocked and saddened by the casualties and loss of life caused by yesterday’s explosion on the Minsk metro. I understand that the Belarusian authorities believe this was an act of terrorism. The United Kingdom utterly condemns all such actions, and our thoughts are with all of those affected by this tragic event”
