Minister for Middle East and North Africa visits Algeria

Minister for the Middle East and North Africa, Hugh Robertson, visits Algeria for UK-Algeria High Level Dialogue.

Foreign Office Minister Hugh Robertson, is visiting Algeria, where he will be co-chairing the UK-Algeria High Level Dialogue with His Excellency Madjd Bouguerra, Minister Delegate for Maghreb and African Affairs in the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mr Robertson’s visit comes a year after the visit of Prime Minister David Cameron and will review progress across the broad bilateral relationship between the UK and Algeria in the last year. The Ministers will discuss cooperation across a number of issues.

Speaking on arrival in Algiers, Mr Robertson said:

The UK is committed to a strong and enduring partnership with Algeria. Our High Level Dialogue allows us to continue to grow that relationship, and discuss a wide range of issues of mutual concern and interest, including security, last year’s tragic attack at In Amenas, trade, promoting the English language and boosting university and cultural ties.
