The Minister spoke at a two-day UNHCR conference, in Geneva, on the international response to the humanitarian crisis in Syria. The event follows the success of the Supporting Syria conference hosted in London last month, which saw countries pledge over $11billion to help Syrian refugees, and the UK Government more than double its pledge to £2.3 billion.

Addressing the conference at Palais des Nations, the Minister declared the UK’s willingness to work with other nations in strengthening the global response to the Syrian crisis. He also spoke about the UK’s approach to resettlement and ongoing work with the UNHCR to resettle 20,000 vulnerable Syrian refugees by 2020.
