Minister saddened by loss of life in Mexico
Foreign Office Minister Hugo Swire has expressed his sadness at the loss of life caused by tropical storms in Mexico.
Mr Swire said:
I was saddened to learn of the many deaths and large-scale damage caused by Tropical Storms Ingrid and Manuel, which have hit Mexico almost simultaneously over the past few days. Many Mexicans have lost their lives, and tens of thousands of others have lost their homes and their livelihoods.
I know the Mexican Government is doing all it can to help those caught up in this tragedy. The thoughts of the British Government and the British people are with our friends the Mexican people at this terrible time.
