Surrey based Mobisoft Corporation has secured deals to roll-out its security platform in Sudan and Kenya. The platform will enable British Nationals to enrol in a highly innovative SMS service.

The real time security alert service is now available for all British nationals who are travelling, living or working in Kenya. The technology can also help embassy staff avoid danger spots and was recently used to alert staff during the Westgate Mall siege in Nairobi.

Daniel Metcalfe, Managing Director of Mobisoft, said:

We decided to open our product up to overseas markets last year and now exports constitute the majority of our business making up 70% of our turnover.

UKTI’s support in this venture has been incredibly valuable, and our revenues have increased by 10% since we secured these deals.

Export business

As well as securing business with the British embassies the PROTECT SMS platform is also about to be rolled out for staff at the German embassy in Sudan.

These business wins cement Mobisoft’s position in African markets as they continue to build their international trade portfolio. They are now looking to further develop their business in sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East, especially with other embassies and government organisations.

Michael Axelrod, International Trade Adviser for UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) South East said:

The company’s security software lends itself to the international market and they are experiencing increased revenues since they took their operations to Sudan and Nigeria.

Working with UKTI

Mobisoft worked with UKTI South East International Trade Adviser Michael Axelrod, receiving detailed advice and support. They also took part in UKTI’s Passport to Export programme which helped them focus their time and energy on the right markets.

Daniel Metcalfe said,

Our UKTI adviser has extensive commercial experience and this has been very useful as we continue to grow our operations across the world.

Daniel Metcalfe said;

Our PROTECT platform is being deployed by a significant number of embassies, international bodies and corporate clients.

The unique way we route our traffic to complicated locations has enabled our clients to exploit our systems locally.
