Eighty five per cent of adults in England are planning to follow the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, a survey has revealed.

The latest results from Taking Part, which has been run by DCMS since 2005, have been published today.

The figures, which cover October 2010 to September 2011, also reveal record levels of engagement with the arts and attendance at heritage sites, museums and galleries since Taking Part began.

Taking Part is a continuous annual survey of adults and children living in private households in England. Working with Arts Council England, English Heritage and Sport England, it collects data on participation in leisure, culture and sport in England, as well an in-depth range of socio-demographic information.
