Nurse with patient

The new Multidisciplinary Temporary Healthcare Personnel agreement has been developed to provide the NHS, and other public sector organisations, with access to temporary healthcare workers, including doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and health science services staff.

The agreement has been awarded to 67 suppliers, 87% of which are small and medium businesses.

It has been specifically designed to help customers reduce their escalating and non-compliant spend on agency staff, with an innovative and flexible cost model with capped rates.

It also fully complies with the agency control measures announced by Monitor and the Trust Development Authority on 1 September 2015.

In 2014/15 the Crown Commercial Service helped save the NHS in excess of £343 million and this new agreement is one of a number of initiatives designed to help the NHS make further savings this year.
