New and improved website from the UK Ship Register

The UK Ship Register (UKSR) launched a new website, simplifying access to essential services for seafarers and vessel owners worldwide.

New and improved UK Ship Register website

The UK Ship Register (UKSR) now has a new feature-packed website. It’s now easier for seafarers and vessel owners from around the globe to access a wide range of essential information and services from one of the world’s best performing flag registries.

With a fresh and clear menu and design intended for easy navigation, the new website offers fast access to the latest information and guidance as well as links to vital policy, safety and regulatory documentation and news.

A new feature for UKSR web visitors is the fee calculator. Fees are instantly displayed and offer an at-a-glance overview of costs and package options for owners of tanker, cargo and passenger and container vessels.

The website refresh means that information is easier to access in one place. It reflects the UKSR’s position as the flag of choice for vessel owners seeking the highest quality service, performance and reassurance of an international leader.

Lars Lippuner, Director UK Customer Maritime Services, said:

“Designed with customers at its core, our newly enhanced UK Ship Register website will serve as a valuable tool for ship owners/managers and seafarers. The website will provide easy access to key information and empower customers to interact more effectively with our services. At the Maritime and Coastguard Agency we are committed to enhancing customer experience and our new website is a key vehicle to support us in delivering on this ambition.”

The website sets out the variety of benefits of flagging to the UK, including 24/7 customer services, globally-competitive registration fees and no annual flag tax. In addition, the Enhanced Authorisation Scheme means customers can also take advantage of a dedicated team of world-renowned Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) surveyors or have the flexibility of being able to delegate to Class.

The website groups together the essential information for each category. For example Survey and Regulation has a comprehensive section, including contact details for the MCA’s Survey and Inspection team and details on all the essential documentation. Seafarers also have a dedicated menu of options, with links and information on certifications, safety and health, living and working conditions and medical fitness.
