New email for requests for cost limit increases in contempt cases
From Monday 3 February 2025 the Magistrates Billing team will consider cost increases and there will be a designated email address for requests.
As part of a review of the contempt of court guidance we are moving the consideration of cost increases to the Magistrates Billing team as they have more expertise, understanding, and existing processes for authorising the more expensive cases.
The published guidance will be updated and take effect from Monday 3 February 2025.
The new email address to send requests for a cost limit to be increased is NTP.extensions@justice.gov.uk
