New footpath for A595 near Egremont
Life for pedestrians using the A595 near Egremont in Cumbria has become easier and safer – with work on a new footpath completed earlier this month.
The Highways Agency has spent £50,000 to build the new footpath on the Egremont side of the A595 between East Road roundabout and North Road.
Highways Agency project manager Peter Gee said:
This is good news for pedestrians. This new footpath provides a link between existing paths and discourages pedestrians from walking in the grassed verge, in the road itself or crossing the road.
