New report launched on UK business opportunities in Nigeria
The report officially launched by the FCO and PricewaterhouseCoopers looks at sectors of opportunity for UK businesses in Nigeria.
On Wednesday (27 July 2016) the Foreign Office in conjunction with PricewaterhouseCoopers held the official launch of the report ‘Seizing the Opportunity: An economic assessment of key sectors of opportunity for UK business in Nigeria’. The event was hosted by The Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Nigeria, John Howell, MP.
During John Howell’s 4-day visit to Lagos, Nigeria he joined PwC’s Country Senior Partner, Uyi Akpata to present the report which he described as‘useful in the UK’s bid to strengthen trade relations with Nigeria and other countries. He also added he was determined to ensure that the UK becomes Nigeria’s number one trade partner by talking to both British companies and companies in Nigeria about how they can do more business together and making them aware of the opportunities highlighted in the report.
The UK government aims to use this report to build on its current prosperity efforts in Nigeria, committed to working together with Nigerian government, businesses and local stakeholders to tackle constraints to growth in Nigeria, ultimately enhancing the bilateral relationship between the UK and Nigeria.
