New UK investments in Tamil Nadu
Announced today at Global Investors Meet (GIM) in Chennai.
Bharat Joshi, British Deputy High Commissioner Chennai today announced new UK investments in Tamil Nadu, at the Global Investors Meet (GIM) in Chennai.
Bharat Joshi said:
Healthcare continues to be a fruitful area for UK-India partnership. I am delighted that in the margins of the GIM - at which the UK is a proud partner country - the UK Global Health Alliance will sign a ground-breaking memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Apollo MedSkills to support training programmes on specialised skills development for doctors, nurses, paramedics, cardiac physiologists and others. This is one of many on-going projects, including of Glasgow Kelvin College to establish a new Dental Nursing Academy in Coimbatore and to work with nursing colleges there to introduce global standard dental nursing qualifications; and of Westminster Healthcare to establish world-class niche outpatient, diagnostic, wellness and prevention services in a new 21st Century Chennai clinic.
Dr Kinshuk Kalra, Country Manager India, Global Health Alliance (GHA), UK said:
GHA is really pleased to be collaborating with Apollo MedSkills to develop the skills of hospital technicians, doctors and para-medical professionals across India. This will involve institutional faculty exchange and joint research and we are keen to work closely with public and private health institutions as we roll out these modules.
Dr Srinivasa Rao, Vice President-Operations & Academics, Apollo Medskills said:
We are convinced that this collaboration is the right step forward, keeping in mind the respective strengths of Apollo Medskills and GHA. Apollo and GHA will continue to work together on multiple opportunities to make a difference in healthcare skilling.
