Newton-Picarte call for young innovators in Chile
FIA and InnovateUK are supporting young Chilean innovators and entrepreneurs in the agriculture, food and forestry industry.
The Newton-Picarte Fund has opened a “Young Innovators” call led by FIA (Fundación para la Innovación Agraria) as the Chilean delivery partner and InnovateUK as the UK delivery partner. FIA is calling for proposals from young Chilean entrepreneurs (aged 18-30) from all disciplines for an innovation capacity development programme. The deadline for applications is 3 July 2015.
The “Young Innovators” call seeks to support innovative initiatives that contribute to the development, adaptation and validation of new technologies and processes, and the generation of new products and services associated with the implementation of a business that generates impact in the agriculture, food and forestry industry in Chile.
Young people from different disciplines can develop their projects in the areas of adaptation to climate change and the environment, food marketing, food safety and biotechnology.
The selected proposals will participate in a one week training course in Chile, which will be developed by UK specialists and FIA professionals. InnovateUK will soon open a tender calling for UK specialists in this area. In this training, the young innovators will learn how to develop their business plans and formulate their draft Innovative Entrepreneurship projects.
The Innovative Entrepreneurship projects will then be revaluated by representatives of FIA and InnovateUK and a successful few will be awarded. The awarded projects will have a maximum deadline of 24 months and a grant of up to $ 30 million (Chilean Pesos) to develop their proposals. For more information on the call, please visit the webpage of the Fundación para la Innovación Agraria.
