Nick Clegg with STEM apprentices

The Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, said:

National Apprenticeship Week gives us a good opportunity to celebrate the fantastic contribution apprentices make to our society.

That is why I am pleased to host a reception to celebrate women in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) and encourage more girls to look at apprenticeships in this area. Liberal Democrats in government have helped create over a million and a half new apprenticeships across the country.

It is important that we work together to secure their future and Britain’s long term success: building a stronger economy and fairer society for this generation and the next.
