Non-executive director vacancy at Monitor
The Secretary of State for Health is looking to appoint a non-executive director to Monitor.
As a member of Monitor’s board, the non-executive director will play a key part in the effective and successful governance of Monitor. Specifically to:

ensure that Monitor’s role as the sector regulator for health services in England is developed and carried out, putting patients at the heart of the NHS
-
ensure that Monitor’s priorities in relation to NHS foundation trusts providing a high quality of patient care and achieving sound economic performance are met and that Monitor applies its regulatory powers appropriately

oversee the performance of Monitor’s executive team, holding it to account for the delivery of Monitor’s business plan
-
provide an independent, impartial view at board meetings and committees, and make a constructive contribution and challenge
