Online credit reports

Consumers can now view their credit reports online for just £2 following an agreement with the three major credit reference agencies.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

Victims of ID fraud and the financially vulnerable will get free access to their reports.

Consumer Minister Edward Davey said:

“These are highly beneficial changes. All consumers now have easier access to their £2 statutory credit reports, with victims of ID fraud and the financially vulnerable receiving free and immediate access to their reports. These significant improvements will help consumers take better control of their finances.”

Previously, £2 credit reports were only available via post and took up to seven days to arrive.
