Overnight closures at A45 Stonebridge Highway in Coventry
Two overnight closures will take place next week at the A45 Stonebridge Highway in Coventry as part of the A45 Tollbar Improvement Scheme.
On Monday (16 March) the carriageway will be closed westbound and the following night (Tuesday 17 March), the road will be closed eastbound. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am to allow new road markings, drainage and kerbing work to take place as part of the continuing A45 Stonebridge Highway widening.
Highways Agency Project Manager Paul Nagra, said:
This work forms part of our important scheme to increase capacity on the Stonebridge Highway and Tollbar Island.
We are undertaking the work overnight to minimise disruption to road users and I would like to remind motorists to plan their journeys, leaving extra time if necessary.
Once complete, the flow of traffic will be improved at this busy location and road users can expect improved journey times.
During the closures, a clearly marked diversion route will be in place. On Monday night during the westbound closure, traffic will be diverted to the B4110 and then at the junction with the A4802, motorists can turn left until they join the A444 at Whitley. They can then take the first exit off the roundabout and travel along the A444 southbound, to join the A45 and A46 at Stivichall junction.
On Tuesday night during the eastbound closure, motorists will be able to head northbound from Stivichall junction up the A444 to Whitley and then at the roundabout take the second exit onto the A4082. At the next roundabout they can take the fourth exit onto the B4110 London Road to join the Tollbar roundabout.
