Overnight closures for Tollbar End improvement in Coventry
Overnight closures will be taking place on the B4110 and A45 in Coventry over the next few weeks as part of the Tollbar End improvement scheme.
The B4110 London Road will be closed southbound towards the Tollbar island each night between Tuesday 7 to Friday 10 April from 8pm to 6am. The closures are necessary to allow the installation of street lighting duct crossings and new road markings on the B4110 London Road southbound between Montgomery Close and Tollbar island.
Each night between Wednesday 15 and Friday 17 April, the A45 Stonebridge Highway will be closed westbound from 8pm to 6am. Work will be underway to install street lighting duct and drainage crossings, and new road markings on the Stonebridge Highway between Tollbar island and Stivichall junction. Highways England Assistant Project Manager, Tristan Hall, said:
The closures are necessary for the safety of our workforce and we are undertaking this work overnight to minimise disruption to road users.
During the closures, diversions will be in place and we advise motorists to allow extra time for their journeys on these dates. The diversion routes may be unfamiliar to some drivers so we urge them to take extra care and to drive safely.
During the B4110 closures, traffic will be diverted off the B4110 southbound, left towards the A46 Coventry eastern bypass, northbound to the TGI roundabout where motorists can take the fourth exit onto the A46 Coventry eastern bypass southbound, to join the Tollbar roundabout.
For the westbound A45 Stonebridge Highway closure, traffic will be diverted to the B4110 and at the junction with the A4082, motorists can turn left until they join the A444 at Whitley. They can then take the first exit off the roundabout and travel along the A444 southbound to join the A45 and A46 at Stivichall junction.
