Overnight resurfacing on A49 in Shropshire
The Highways Agency is to carry out overnight resurfacing and improve road markings along a half-mile section the A49 between Stapleton and Condover in Shropshire, from Monday 16 June.
Highways Agency Project Sponsor Richard Gulliver said:
This scheme will provide a much improved, smoother surface to improve journeys. During the work, road users are advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
The two-night scheme will be carried out near the Limes Paddock junction of the A49. The carriageway will be closed in both directions between 8pm and 6am.
Traffic travelling northbound on the A49 will be diverted at the junction of the A49/B4371, Church Stretton, on the B4371 eastbound to Much Wenlock, then the A458 northbound and to continue along A458 northbound to its junction with A5.
Traffic travelling southbound on A49 will be diverted at the junction of the A5/A49, taking the exit to the A5 eastbound, then the A458 southbound, the B4368 at Morville and re-joining the A49 at Craven Arms.
