Overnight slip road closures at M6 junction 16 near Stoke-on-Trent
The southbound entry slip road at junction 16 of the M6 near Stoke-on-Trent will be closed for repairs for seven nights from Monday 7 April.
Work includes resurfacing, reinstating high friction surfacing at the traffic lights and replacing white lining and studs.
The slip road will be closed from 8pm to 7am Monday to Friday, 8pm to 10am on Saturday night and 8pm to 7am on Sunday night. Traffic will be diverted along the A500 to join the M6 southbound at junction 15.
Highways Agency project manager Purnima Kaul said:
As part of our ongoing monitoring of the road network we’ve identified some deterioration of the road surface on the slip road. This work will remedy that deterioration and ensure the continued safety of road users.
Closing the slip road will enable us to carry out the work in safety and in the shortest amount of time. We advise road users to allow extra time for their journeys.
