Partial M53 roundabout closure for resurfacing
A £90,000 Highways Agency project to resurface parts of the roundabout with the A41 at junction 5 of the M53 near Ellesmere Port will be taking place next week.
The resurfacing will be taking place on Monday and Tuesday night (17 and 18 march) between 10pm and 5am on both nights. Finishing work will also be taking place between 10pm and 5am over two nights on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 March.
During the work, the southbound exit slip will be closed and drivers send down to junction 6 where they can leave the motorway or use the junction roundabout to join the northbound M53 and exit at junction 5 using the northbound exit slip road.
Clearly-signed diversions will also be in place along the A41.
Highways Agency project sponsor Jakub Malaj said:
This is routine maintenance to tackle wear and tear along the roundabout carriageway and ensure road users can continue to enjoy safe and smooth journeys.
