From the end of April, patients in parts of London, Manchester and Nottingham will be able to register with a GP practice in a convenient place for them, regardless of practice boundaries.

**The pilot scheme, which runs for a year, will allow patients to register with a practice close to their home, workplace, child’s school, or other place that suits them, to make it easier for them to see a GP. It could also benefit people who move home and want to remain with their current practice.

Read the guidance on the scheme for GPs and PCTs.
