Planned road works in West Midlands: Weekly summary for Monday 13 to 19 October 2014
The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 10 October 2014 but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.
M5 junction 3 Quinton, West Midlands: Sign replacement
The northbound entry slip road will be closed from 13 October to 19 October between 7pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M5 junction 8 to M50 junction 1, Twyning, Gloucestershire: Embankment works
The westbound carriageway will be closed from 10pm on 13 October to and 6am. The diversion route will be up and over junction 6.
M6 junction 2 Coventry to junction 3 Nuneaton: Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 13 to 27 October between 8pm and 5am. A diversion will be clearly signposted
M6 junction 6 Gravelly Hill, West Midlands: Wall repairs & resurfacing
The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 9 to 28 October between 8pm and 6am. The southbound entry and exit slip roads will be closed from from 9.30pm on 16 to 6am on 17 October. Diversion routes will be clearly signposted.
M6 junction 10A Walsall to junction 11 Cheslyn Hay, West Midlands: Carriageway works
The northbound carriageway will be closed overnight for two nights, from 10pm to 6am, on the 14 and 15 October. The southbound carriageway will be closed overnight for two nights, from 10pm to 6am, on the 15 and 16 October. Diversion routes will be clearly signposted
M6 junction 12 Cannock, Staffordshire: Carriageway works
The southbound exit slip road will be closed 24/7 from 10 to 13 October. From the 17 to 20 October, the slip road will be closed again and there will be a lane closure on the M6 from 10pm to 6am for reconstruction work. Diversion routes will be clearly signposted
M6 junction 13 Acton Trussell to junction 12 Cannock, Staffordshire: Carriageway works
The southbound carriageway will be closed from 14 to 17 October from 9.30pm to 6am. Diversion routes will be clearly signposted.
M50 junction 2 Ledbury, Herefordshire to junction 4 Herefordshire to junction 2
The westbound carriageway will be closed from 7 to 22 October between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M54 junction 3 Shifnal and junction 2 Wolverhampton, West Midlands: Carriageway works
The eastbound carriageway will be closed between 8pm on 12 October and 6am on 13 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M54 junction 4 Shifnal to junction 5 Telford, Shropshire: Bridge repairs
The eastbound entry slip road and lane 1 of the M54 carriageway will be closed from 13 to 17 October, between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A5 Preston Boats/Emstry Island, Shropshire: Carriageway works
There will be full overnight closures of the eastbound carriageway until 30 November between 7:30pm and 7am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A5 Mile end to Queens Head Eastbound, Shropshire: Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed in both directions between 7pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A40 Wilton Roundabout to Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire: Carriageway works
The eastbound carriageway will be closed from 6:30pm to 7am from 13 to 19 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A45 Tollbar End to Festival Roundabouts: Carriageway works
The westbound carriageway will be closed from 16 October to 19 October between 8pm and 7am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A45/A46 Tollbar End major project, Coventry
Generally, over the period of the scheme, temporary speed limits will be in place monitored by average-speed cameras. There is now a 40mph limit on the A45 Stonebridge Highway, A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass, A45 London Road and Tollbar Roundabout. Drivers are advised to follow any diversions and not to use their Satellite Navigation Systems. Planned traffic management for the week from Saturday 11 October (All lane and road closures during off-peak hours, 9:30am to 3.30pm and 8pm to 6am).

Thursday 16 October - Lane 1 closure on the A45 Stonebridge Highway, east bound and west bound; lane 1 closure on the A45 London Road west bound; lane 2 closure on the A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass, south bound and north bound; From 8pm until 6am, there will be a total closure of A45 Stonebridge Highway westbound carriageway. Diversion in place via B4110.

Friday 17 October - Lane 1 closure on the A45 Stonebridge Highway, east bound and west bound; lane 1 closure on the A45 London Road west bound; lane 2 closure on the A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass, north bound; From 8pm until 6am, there will be a total closure of A45 Stonebridge Highway westbound carriageway. Diversion in place via B4110.
Until December 2014, the following 24 hour traffic management will be in place:
- Narrow lanes will be in place on A45 Stonebridge Highway, westbound (Tollbar to Stivichall).
- Traffic management will be in place on Tollbar roundabout.
- Stonehouse Lane access to A45 Stonebridge Highway will be closed.
- Lane 3 closure will be in place on A45 London Road, westbound.
- Narrow lanes will be in place on A46 Coventry eastern bypass, northbound.
- Various lane closures around Tollbar End roundabout.
- Rowley Road will have various lane closures.
- Siskin Drive will have various lane closures.
- London Road B4110 will have various lane closures.
A49 Ok Diner and Southern Dine, Leominster: Resurfacing works
The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 13 to 20 October between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
A483/A5 Northbound and Southbound Exit from Mile End, Shropshire: Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed from 9 October to 24 December between 7pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
A500 Etruria Entry Slip and Eturia to Shelton, Stoke-on-Trent: Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 9 October to 30 October between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
