Planned road works in West Midlands: Weekly summary for Monday 26 January to Sunday 1 February 2015
The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 22 January 2015 but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.
M5 junction 8 Strensham to junction 7, Worcestershire. Carriageway works
The northbound carriageway will be closed from 26 January to 1 February between 10pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M5 junction 4, Lydiate Ash, Worcestershire: Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 30 January to 2 February between 9pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
M6 junction 2, Coventry, to junction 3, Bedworth/Nuneaton, Warwickshire: Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 26 January to 28 January between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 junction 5, Castle Bromwich, West Midlands: Carriageway works
There will be a full 24-hour closure of the southbound entry slip road from 26 January to 31 July. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
M6 junction 6 Gravelly Hill Interchange, Birmingham: Carriageway works
There will be a full 24-hour closure of the eastbound link road from 26 January to 30 May. The southbound exit slip road will be closed from 29 January to 2 February between 9pm and 5am. Diversion routes will be clearly signposted
M6 Junction 9, Wednesbury, West Midlands. Carriageway works
The southbound entry slip road will be closed from 26 January to 30 July. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 junction 10, Walsall to junction 8 Ray Hall Interchange, West Midlands: Carriageway works
The southbound carriageway including all slip roads will be closed from 9pm on 25 January to 6am on 26 January. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
M6 junction 12, Cannock, to junction 13 Acton Trussell, Staffordshire: Carriageway works
The northbound carriageway will be closed from 9.30pm on 29 January to 6am on 30 January between 9.30pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
M6 junction 14 Stafford to junction 13 Acton Trussell, Staffordshire: Carriageway works
The southbound carriageway, including junction 14 southbound entry slip road, will be closed from 7.30pm on 25 January to 6am on 26 January. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 junction 16, Crewe, Staffordshire: Carriageway works
The northbound exit slip road will be closed from 26 January to 28 January between 8pm and 6am. The southbound entry slip road will be closed from 30 January to 3 February between 8pm and 6am. Diversion routes will be clearly signposted. The Southbound carriageway will be closed from 31 January to 1 February between 9.30pm and 10am. Diversion routes will be clearly signposted
M42 junction 3a to M40 southbound link, Redditch, Worcestershire. Carriageway works
The southbound carriageway will be closed from 26 January to 12 February between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M42 junction 7 including link road from M6 junction 4a, Birmingham: Carriageway works
The southbound carriageway will be closed from 26 January to 31 January between 9.30pm and 5.30am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M42 junction 11, Appleby Magna, Leicestershire: Carriageway works
The northbound exit slip road will be closed from 30 January to 31 January between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M50 junction 1, Twyning, Gloucestershire: Carriageway works
There will be a full 24-hour closure on the westbound entry slip road from 26 January to 21 March. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
M50 junction 2 Ledbury to junction 4 Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire: Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 26 to 31 January between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
M54 junction 4, Shifnal, Telford and Wrekin: Carriageway works
The westbound exit slip road will be closed from 30 January to 2 February between 10pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
M54 junction 5 Telford to junction 3 Albrighton, Shropshire: Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 26 January to 13 May between 9pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A5 Preston Boats, Shropshire: Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 26 to 31 January between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

The eastbound carriageway will be closed in both directions from 26 January to 8 February between 8pm and 5.30am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
A5 Ventura Park, Staffordshire: Carriageway works
The westbound entry and exit slip roads will be closed from 7.30pm on 28 January to 6am on 29 January. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A45 Oxford Road junction to M45 junction 1, Warwickshire: Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 26 January to 28 February between 10pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A45/A46 Tollbar End major project, Coventry
Generally, over the period of the scheme, temporary speed limits will be in place monitored by average-speed cameras. There is now a 40mph limit on the A45 Stonebridge Highway, A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass, A45 London Road and Tollbar Roundabout. Drivers are advised to follow any diversions and not to use their Satellite Navigation Systems. Planned traffic management for the week from Saturday 24 January (All lane and road closures during off-peak hours, 9:30am to 3.30pm and 8pm to 6am).

- Lane 1 closure will be in place on A45 London Road, eastbound.
- Narrow lanes will be in place on A46 Coventry eastern bypass, northbound.
- Various lane closures around Tollbar End roundabout.

- Rowley Road will have various lane closures.
