Planned road works in West Midlands: Weekly summary for Monday 9 February to 15 February 2015
The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 5 February 2015 but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.
M5 junction 1 West Bromwich: Carriageway works:
The southbound entry slip road will be closed from 8pm on 9 February to 6am on 10 February. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M5 junction 4 Lydiate Ash, Worcestershire: Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 9 February to 31 May between 9pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted. There will be a full, 24-hour closure in both directions from 13 to 16 February. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M5 junction 5 Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire: Carriageway works
The northbound carriageway will be closed from 9 to 16 February between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M5 junction 7 Worcester south to junction 6 Worcester north, Worcestershire: Carriageway works
The northbound carriageway will be closed from 9 to 20 February between 10pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
M5 junction 8 Strensham to junction 7 Worcester South, Worcestershire: Carriageway works
The northbound carriageway will be closed from 10pm on 9 February to 6am 10 February between 10pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 junction 1 Rugby to junction 2 Coventry, West Midlands: Carriageway works
The northbound carriageway will be closed from 9pm on 14 February to 19am on 15 February. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 junction 6 Gravelly Hill Interchange, West Midlands: Carriageway works
There will be a full 240hour closure of the eastbound link road from 9 February to 30 May. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 junction 8, Ray Hall Interchange, West Midlands: Carriageway works
The northbound carriageway will be closed from 11 to 13 February between 10pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 junction 9, Wednesbury, West Midlands: Carriageway works
There will be a full 24-hour closure of the southbound entry slip from 9 February to 30 July. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 junction 11, Cheslyn Hay, Staffordshire: Carriageway works
The southbound exit slip road will be closed from 9 to 11 February between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 junction 16, Crewe, Cheshire: Carriageway works
The southbound entry slip road will be closed from 9 to 11 February between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M50 junction 1, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire: Carriageway works
There will be a full 24-hour closure on the westbound entry slip road from 9 February to 21 March. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M50 junction 2, Ledbury to junction 4, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire: Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 9 to 27 February between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M54 junction 4, Shifnal, Telford and Wrekin: Carriageway works
The eastbound exit slip road will be closed from 13 to 16 February between 10pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M54 junction 5 Telford to junction 3 Albrighton, Telford and Wrekin: Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed in both Directions from 9 February to 13 May between 9pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A5 Montford Lane to Wolfshead Roundabout, Shropshire: Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 9 to 15 February between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A5 Preston Boats Island, Shrewsbury: Carriageway works
The westbound and eastbound carriageways will be closed from 9 February to 6 March between 8pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A5 Emstry Island, Shrewsbury: Carriageway works
The westbound and eastbound carriageways will be closed from 9 February to 6 March between 7.30pm and 7am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
A45 Oxford Road junction to M45 junction 1, Warwickshire: Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 9 to 28 February between 10pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A45/A46 Tollbar End major project, Coventry
Generally, over the period of the scheme, temporary speed limits will be in place monitored by average-speed cameras. There is now a 40mph limit on the A45 Stonebridge Highway, A46 Coventry Eastern Bypass, A45 London Road and Tollbar Roundabout.
Drivers are advised to follow any diversions and not to use their Satellite Navigation Systems.
Planned traffic management for the week from Saturday 7 February (All lane and road closures during off-peak hours, 9:30am to 3.30pm and 8pm to 6am).
Saturday 7 February – No additional requirements.
Sunday 8 February – No additional requirements.

Narrow lanes will be in place on A45 Stonebridge Highway, westbound (Tollbar to Stivichall).
Traffic management will be in place on Tollbar roundabout.
Stonehouse Lane access to A45 Stonebridge Highway will be closed.
Lane 1 closure will be in place on A45 London Road, eastbound.
Narrow lanes will be in place on A46 Coventry eastern bypass, northbound.
Various lane closures around Tollbar End roundabout.

A50 Blythe Bridge, Stoke-on-Trent: Carriageway works
The eastbound carriageway will be closed from 9 to 12 February between 8pm and 5am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
A446 Chester Road, Marston Green, Solihull: Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed southbound from 9 to 28 February between 10pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
