Planned road works in West Midlands: Weekly summary for Monday 9 March – Sunday 15 March 2015
The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 5 March 2015 but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.
A38M/M6 Link, West Midlands. Carriageway works
The slip road will be closed from 10pm on 12 March to 6am the following morning. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A45 Exit Slip to M42 Junction 6, West Midlands. Carriageway works
The westbound exit slip road will be closed from 9 March to 14 March between 8pm and 6am each night. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A45 Oxford Road, Warwickshire, to M45 Junction 1. Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 9 March to 20 March between 8pm and 6am each night. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A45 link from M42 Junction 6, Birmingham, West Midlands. Carriageway works The westbound link will be closed from 9.30pm on 8 March to 5.30am the following morning. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A5 Preston Boats Island, Shropshire: Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 9 March to 14 March between 10pm and 6am each night. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A5 Emstrey Island, Shropshire: Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 9 March to 14 March between 7.30pm and 7am each night. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A500 - A506 Entry Slip to A500 Sideway: Carriageway works
There will be a full 24-hour closure on the southbound entry slip road from 10pm on 9 March to 11.59pm on 13 March 2015. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M42 Junction 6, West Midlands. Carriageway works
The northbound exit slip road will be closed from 9 March to 14 March between 10pm and 6am each night. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
M42 Junction 11 Appleby Magna, Staffordshire – Junction 10 Tamworth, Staffordshire, West Midlands. Carriageway works
The southbound carriageway will be closed from 9pm on 9 March to 6am the following morning. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
M42 Junction 9 Curdworth, Staffordshire – Junction 7A Interchange, West Midlands. Carriageway works
The southbound carriageway will be closed from 9.30pm on 14 March to 4:30am the following morning. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
M5 Junction 4 Lydiate Ash, West Midlands. Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 9 March to 31 May between 9pm and 6am each night. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
M5 Junction 7 Worcester South - Junction 8 Strensham, Worcestershire, West Midlands. Carriageway works
The southbound carriageway will be closed from 9 March to 24 March between 10pm and 6am each night. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
M50 Junction 1, Tewkesbury, Worcestershire. Carriageway works
There will be a full 24hour closure on the westbound entry slip road from 10pm on 9 March to 11.59pm on 21 March. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
M50 Junction 2 Ledbury - Junction 4 Ross on Wye, Herefordshire. Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 9 March to 27 March from 8pm to 6am each night. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
M54 Junction 5 Telford - Junction 3 Albrighton, Telford and Wrekin. Carriageway works
The carriageway will be closed in both directions from 9 March to 13 May between 9pm and 6am each night. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
M6 Junction 6 Gravelly Hill Interchange, West Midlands. Carriageway works
There will be a full 24-hour closure of the eastbound link road from 9 March to 30 May. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
M6 Junction 9, Wednesbury, West Midlands. Carriageway works
There will be a full 24 hour closure of the southbound entry slip road from 9 March to 30 July. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
M6 Junction 7 Great Barr – Junction 10 Walsall, West Midlands. Carriageway works
The northbound carriageway including link from M5 north will be closed from 9 March to 30 March between 9pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
M6 Junction 10 Walsall – Junction 8 Ray Hall Interchange, West Midlands. Carriageway works
The southbound carriageway will be closed from 13 March to 16 March between 9pm and 6am each night. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
M6 Junction 12 Cannock, Staffordshire – Junction 10A Walsall, West Midlands. Carriageway works
The southbound carriageway will be closed from 9 March to 15 March between 9:30pm and 6am each night. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
M6 Junction 11 Cheslyn Hay, Staffordshire. Carriageway works
The southbound entry slip road will be closed from 13 March to 14 March between 10pm and 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted
A45/A46 Tollbar Improvement, Coventry
Lane closures and narrow lanes remain in place. There are no full carriageway closures planned this week.
M54 Junctions 3-5 resurfacing scheme, Telford
The westbound carriageway remains closed overnight. This week, the Junction 4 eastbound entry slip road will be closed from 10pm on 12 March to 6am the following morning and 10pm on 13 March to 7am the following morning. During the day there will be hard shoulder and lane closures, narrow lanes and speed restrictions on both carriageways.
