Planned road works in West Midlands: weekly summary from Monday 3 to Sunday 9 October 2016
Summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week.
The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 30 September 2016 but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.
A38 – Streethay northbound exit slip road and southbound entry slip road: carriageway works
The slip roads will be closed 24 hours a day from 24 July until 11 November. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A38 – Hilliards Cross exit slip road: carriageway works
The northbound exit slip road will be closed 24 hours a day from 24 August until 21 December. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A38 – Toyota entry slip road: carriageway works
The southbound entry slip road will be closed overnight between 9.30pm and 6am from 3 October until 5 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A38 – Under Toyota island: bridge works
The southbound carriageway will be closed overnight between 8pm and 5am from 5 October until 8 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A38M – M6 links from out of city A38M: carriageway works
The Links from out of city A38M will be closed overnight between 9pm and 6am from 3 October until 9 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A38M – Tyburn Road merge onto A38M into City Aston Expressway: carriageway works
The road into city A38M will be closed overnight between 9pm and 6am from 3 October until 9 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A49 – Bayston Hill: renewal of White Lines and Road Studs
The carriageway will be closed in both directions overnight between 9pm and 6am from 3 October until 9 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A5 – Centurian Park (Stonydelph) exit slip road: carriageway works
The eastbound exit slip road will be closed overnight for one night from 9pm 3 October until 6am the following morning (4 October). A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A5 – Centurian Park (Stonydelph) entry slip road: carriageway works
The westbound entry slip road will be closed overnight for one night from 9pm 4 October until 6am the following morning (5 October). A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A5 – Glascote junction exit and entry slip roads: carriageway works
The westbound entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight for one night from 9pm 6 October until 6am the following morning (7 October). A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A5 – Ventura exit and entry slip roads: carriageway works
The eastbound entry and exit slip roads will be closed overnight for one night from 9pm 7 October until 6am the following morning (8 October). A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A500 – A5006 from Michelin roundabout and A500 northbound sideway slip road: material deliveries
The northbound carriageway and slip road will be closed overnight between 8pm and 6am from 3 October until 9 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A500 – Talke Island: bridge works
The Westside of the island will be closed for 24 hours a day from 19 September ongoing until 23 December. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
A5127 – Gravelly Hill merge onto A38M into City Aston Expressway: carriageway repairs
The slip into City Aston Expressway will be closed overnight between 9pm and 6am from 3 October until 9 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M42 – M42 link to M6 northbound: message sign repairs
The M42 link to M6 northbound will be closed overnight for one night from 10pm 4 October until 5am the following morning (5 October). A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M42 – junction 8 to junction 7 including Coleshill entry slip road: message sign repairs
The southbound carriageway including the entry slip road will be closed overnight for one night from 10pm 5 October until 5am the following morning (6 October). A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M42 – junction 3a to junction 3 including entry slip road: electrical works
The northbound carriageway including the entry slip road will be closed overnight for one night from 8pm 6 October until 5am the following morning (7 October). A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M5 – junction 5 northbound exit slip road: major scheme works
The slip road will be closed overnight between 8pm and 6am from 3 October until 7 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M50 – junction 2 exit slip road: carriageway works
The eastbound exit slip road will be closed overnight between 7.30am and 5.30pm from 3 October until 5 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M54 – junction 7 exit slip road: carriageway works
The westbound exit slip road will be closed overnight between 9.30pm and 6am from 3 October until 5 October. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 – junction 6 Salford Circus to M6: re-waterproofing and structural repairs
There will be a 24-hour carriageway closure in both directions from 8 July 2016 ongoing until 23 December 2017. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.

The northbound entry slip road will be closed overnight for one night from 10pm 5 October until 6am the following morning (6 October). A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 – junction 5 entry slip road: message sign repairs
The southbound entry slip road will be closed overnight for one night from 10pm 6 October until 5am the following morning (7 October). A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
M6 – junction 9 entry and exit slip roads: carriageway repairs

A45/A46 – Tollbar End improvement
A lane will be closed on Siskin Drive and Rowley Road during the day from 9.30am to 3.30pm 3 October until 7 October. There will also be an overnight lane closure during the same period at Tollbar roundabout from 8pm to 6am. A diversion route will be clearly signposted.
