The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of 15 July but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.
M3 junctions 2 (M25) to 4a Farnborough, Hampshire: Smart motorway improvement
Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times continues this week with narrow lanes, a contraflow and a 50mph speed limit in place on both carriageways between junctions 2 and 4a, with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day until the end of 2016.
The link road from the M25 junction 12 anti-clockwise to the M3 junction 2 southbound will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, on Monday 18 July. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M25 anti-clockwise to the M3 northbound to junction 1 and return.
The southbound carriageway between junctions 4 and 4a including junction 4 entry slip and junction 4a exit slip will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, from Monday 18 July for 4 nights and between 8pm and 7am on Friday 22 July. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A331, A30 and A327.
The northbound carriageway between junctions 3 and 2 including junction 3 entry slip and the M3 junction 2 northbound link roads to M25 junction 12 clockwise and anticlockwise will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, on Monday 18 July between 8pm and 5.30am for three nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via M3 junction 3 to A322 to A30 to M25 junction 13 to M3 junction 2.
The southbound carriageway between junctions 3 and 4 including junction 3 entry slip and junction 4 exit slip will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, on Wednesday 20 July. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A322, A30 and A331.
The northbound carriageway between junctions 4 and 3 including junction 4 entry slip and junction 3 exit slip will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, on Wednesday 20 July. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A331, A30 and A322.

M3 junction 5 Hook, Hampshire: resurfacing
Work to improve journeys by renewing the road markings and resurfacing the slip roads at the junction finishes this week. The southbound exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Monday 18 July. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via junction 6 and junction 4.
M3 junction 13 Eastleigh to Chilworth Interchange, Hampshire: street lighting
Work to ensure road user safety by maintaining the lighting columns along the M3 finishes this week. Lane 3 of both carriageways will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 18 July for 5 nights.
M4 junctions 5 Slough to 7 Maidenhead, Berkshire: drainage and verge survey
Work to maintain safety by carrying out drainage and verge surveys continues this week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until the autumn (Monday to Friday only).
M4 junction 6 Windsor, Berkshire: carriageway resurfacing
Work to improve journeys by resurfacing the westbound exit slip road finishes this week. The westbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Friday 22 July. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 7.
M4 junctions 8/9 Maidenhead to 11 Reading / Wokingham, Berkshire: drainage and verge survey
Work to maintain safety by carrying out drainage and verge surveys continues this week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until the autumn (Monday to Friday only).
M4 junctions 11 to 12 Reading, Berkshire: structural survey
Work to improve journeys by carrying out structural surveys near Reading takes place this week. Lane closures will be in place on both carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 18 July for 5 nights.
M27 junction 3 Southampton, Hampshire: bridge closure
Work to maintain safety by diverting utility cables as part of a scheme to replace the A3057 Romsey Road bridge starts this week. Narrow lane running will be in place on the bridge during both day and night time hours from Monday 18 July for 6 weeks.
In addition, the A3057 Romsey Road over the bridge will be closed from 10pm on Friday 22 July until 6am on Monday 25 July.
A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A27 Botley Road (through North Baddesley and Chilworth), Bassett Avenue, Winchester Road and Romsey Road. Access to roads in the Nursling and Rownhams parish will be maintained for local residents and businesses only.

A3 Longmoor, Hampshire to Guildford, Surrey: road marking
Work to improve journeys by renewing the road markings along the A3 starts this week. The northbound carriageway from Longmoor to the A31 Hogs Back will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Tuesday 19 July for 4 nights.
A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A325 and A31.
A34 Winchester to Highclere, Hampshire: drainage
Work to maintain road user safety by carrying out drainage maintenance along the A34 finishes this week. Lane 1 of the northbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 18 July for 5 nights.
A34 Beedon, West Berkshire: resurfacing
Work to improve journeys by resurfacing sections of the northbound carriageway between Beedon and East Ilsley continues this week. The northbound carriageway between the M4 junction 13 roundabout at Chieveley and East Ilsley will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Tuesday 26 July (Monday to Friday only).
A clearly signed diversion will be in place via Hungerford and Wantage, re-joining the A34 at the Milton Interchange. Vehicles over 7.5 tonnes will be diverted via M4 junction 8/9, the A404 and M40.
