Summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week.
The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of Friday 23 September and could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.
M1 junction 30 Barlborough to junction 31 Aston
The carriageway will be reduced to a single lane overnight for five nights from Monday 26 September. This is part of the smart motorways scheme and the closures will be in place from 8pm to 6am.
M1 junction 32 Thurcroft to junction 35a Stocksbridge
The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. The northbound carriageway from junction 35a to junction 36 will be fully closed for two nights on Monday 26 September and then again on Wednesday 28 September.
The northbound entry slip road at junction 33 will be closed overnight for two nights on Thursday 29 September. The northbound exit slip road at junction 35a will be closed overnight on Thursday 29 September.
The northbound entry slip road at junction 35 will be closed overnight for two nights on Monday 26 September and Wednesday 28 September. The southbound entry slip road at junction 34 will be closed overnight on Tuesday 27 September.
The southbound exit slip road at junction 35 will be closed overnight on Tuesday 27 September. There will be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit until the project is completed in winter 2016. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion routes.
M18 junction 5 to junction 6 Thorne
There will be a lane 1 closure northbound in place 24/7 for drainage works until Saturday 22 October. There will be a full closure northbound between the slip roads at junction 5 and be reduced to a single lane to junction 6 overnight for two nights from Friday 30 September. The closures will take place between 9pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
M62 junction 25 Brighouse
The eastbound carriageway at junction 25 will be closed between the slip roads overnight on Tuesday 27 September for technology works. The closures will take place between 9pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
M62 junction 26 Bradford (M606 interchange)
There will be narrow lanes and a 30mph speed limit in place until a project to add an extra lane to the roundabout at the junction is due to be completed in autumn. The slip roads and roundabout will be reduced to a single lane overnight, between 7pm and 6am, from Monday 26 September for five nights. The closure will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
M62 junction 27 to junction 28 Tingley
The westbound exit slip road at junction 27 will be closed and be reduced to a single lane between the junctions overnight on Wednesday 28 September for gantry works. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
M62 junction 29 Lofthouse
The westbound exit slip road at junction 29 will be closed overnight on Wednesday 28 September for technology works. The closures will take place between 9pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
M62 junction 29 to junction 30 Rothwell
The eastbound carriageway at junction 29 and the eastbound carriageway at junction 30 will be closed between the slip roads with the carriageway being reduced to a single lane from junction 29 to junction 30 overnight on Wednesday 28 September for gantry works. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
M62 junction 34 to junction 35 Langham
The eastbound carriageway will be fully closed overnight for seven nights excluding the weekend from Thursday 29 September for resurfacing works. The closures will take place between 7pm and 7am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
M62 junction 36 to junction 34 Whitley
The westbound carriageway will be fully closed overnight for three nights from Monday 26 September for resurfacing works. The closures will take place between 7pm and 7am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
M62/A162 junction 33 Ferrybridge
The A162 will be fully closed until December 2016 for bridge work. The closures will take place 24/7, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion route.
A180/A160 Immingham, Humberside
There will be narrow lanes on the A180 and A160 along with a 50mph speed limit while work takes place to improve access to the Port of Immingham, including upgrading the A160 to a dual carriageway The project is due to be completed in autumn 2016. The westbound exit slip road and eastbound entry slip road at Brocklesby Interchange will be closed until autumn 2016. Drivers will be able to follow clearly-signed diversion route.
A64 Sherburn to East Heslerton
The A64 will be under convoy working with traffic lights overnight on Monday 26 September. The convoy will take place between 10pm and 6am.
A64 East Heslerton to West Heslerton
The A64 will be under convoy working with traffic lights overnight on Tuesday 27 September. The convoy will take place between 10pm and 6am.
A64 West Heslerton to Rillington
The A64 will be under convoy working with traffic lights overnight for two nights from Wednesday 28 September. The convoy will take place between 10pm and 6am.
A628 Gunn Inn to Flouch
The A64 will be fully closed overnight Monday to Thursday only from Monday 26 September to Thursday 13 October. The carriageway will be under convoy working overnight on Friday 30 September. This is for resurfacing works. The closure will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.
