The Prime Minister holds talks with the King of Saudi Arabia during the G20 Summit

A Downing Street spokesperson said:

The Prime Minister met the King of Saudi Arabia today in the margins of the G20 Summit in Antalya, Turkey.

The Prime Minister and King discussed the situation in Syria and the importance of making progress towards a political solution, which should deliver a transition to a government that could represent all the Syrian people.

They also discussed the situation in Yemen, with the Prime Minister welcoming steps to ensure access for humanitarian supplies. The Prime Minister and King agreed on the importance of all sides committing themselves firmly to reaching a political resolution to the conflict.

The Prime Minister and King reaffirmed the strength of bilateral relations between Britain and the Kingdom, which they agreed were of great importance to each other’s security.
