PM's new Principal Private Secretary: Simon Case
Prime Minister David Cameron has appointed Simon Case as his new Principal Private Secretary.
The Prime Minister has appointed Simon Case as his Principal Private Secretary.
Simon joined the Civil Service in 2006 and his previous roles have included postings with the Northern Ireland Office and the Cabinet Office, where he was Executive Director of the Implementation Group.
Simon has most recently been Director of Strategy at GCHQ.
He also worked at Number 10 between autumn 2012 and July 2014, where he served as Private Secretary and later as Deputy Principal Private Secretary to the Prime Minister.
Simon takes on the role after the Prime Minister’s previous Principal Private Secretary, Chris Martin CB CVO, died in late November 2015. He will start work in Downing Street on Monday.

Simon completed a Bachelor of Arts in history at the University of Cambridge in 2002, before undertaking a PhD in political history at Queen Mary University of London.
