PPP opportunities for UK exporters in the Philippines

Roadshow highlights high value opportunities for UK companies in the areas of airport, rail, road, water and healthcare in the Philippines.

UKTI - PBBC Singapore Roadshow

UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) organised a high level Philippine delegation to meet UK companies with regional headquarters in Singapore. The roadshow in Singapore on 29 September, enabled the delegation to present opportunities in Public Private Partnership (PPP) and Infrastructure.

Working with the Philippine British Business Council, the delegation was led by Secretary Rogelio Singson of the Department of Public Works and Highway. The private sector members of the delegation included senior level representatives from some of the Philippines largest companies engaged in infrastructure projects.

PPP opportunities

There are a number of projects in the Philippines where there are opportunities for UK companies. These include:

  • Integrated Luzon Railway Project - £3.61 billion
  • Mass Transit System Loop - £1.91 billion
  • Laguna Lakeshore Expressway Dike - £1.69 billion
  • Expansion and modernisation of airport projects - £1.52 billion
  • Integrated Roll-On, Roll-Off (RORO) System - £774 million
  • new Centennial Water Supply Source - £249.51 million

Other projects include:

• Light Rail Transit (LRT) extension • Metro Manila Expressway • Laguna Lake Ferry System • road transport IT Infrastructure

Seminar

A seminar was organised and attended by 22 British companies who took note of the presentations of high value projects under infrastructure and PPP.

Two UK companies also presented their experience of doing business in the Philippines. A one-to-one business meeting followed after the seminar. A networking reception was also arranged for this event.
