Veil ban

When asked how the PM felt about the Muslim veil ban in a Birmingham school, the Prime Minister’s spokesperson (PMS) said the PM backed schools being able to set and enforce their own uniform policies.

PM spectacles

Asked for details of the PM’s new spectacles, the PMS said they were from Boots and the PM had worn them since June.

Spare room subsidy

Asked if the government had received a reply to the letter to the UN General Secretary about the UN special rapporteur’s report on the spare room subsidy, the PMS said the letter had been written by the Conservative Party Chairman.

Syria

Asked if the PM supported Ken Clarke’s reported comment that British experts could help disarm Syria, the PMS said there were international bodies with expertise in this area.
