Press release

Press briefing: afternoon 6 March 2014

The Prime Minister’s Spokesperson (PMS) answered questions on foreign workers and Stephen Lawrence.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

Foreign workers

Asked about James Brokenshire’s comments on foreign labour, the PMS said that the minister had set out the government’s approach to immigration policy, which the Prime Minister strongly supported.

Stephen Lawrence

Asked why there would be a further Stephen Lawrence inquiry, the PMS said that the Prime Minister understood the Lawrence family’s pain, and referred the assembled press to the Home Secretary’s statement; particularly the importance of getting to the bottom of the very serious issues identified by the Ellison report.
