Press release

Press briefing: morning 5 February

The Prime Minister’s Spokesperson (PMS) answered questions on COBR, strikes and tax.

This was published under the 2010 to 2015 Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition government

COBR

Asked about the COBR meeting to be chaired by the PM, the PMS said the country had seen power outages, transport affected and homes flooded. The COBR meeting was an opportunity for the PM to get an update on action regarding those areas and consider what more could be done.

Strikes

Asked about the London Underground strike, the PMS said the PM thought the strike should be called off. The strike was called by Bob Crow and his union and it was theirs to call off.

Tax

Asked for the PM’s view on income tax, the PMS said the PM had made his view clear on income tax at a recent PMQs. His view had not changed.
