Prime Minister David Cameron and Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf
The leaders welcomed the UK-Pakistan Joint Education Programme, which has helped more than 1 million Pakistani children enrol in school since 2010.
A statement has been issued following Prime Minister David Cameron’s meeting with his Pakistani counterpart, Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.
A Downing Street spokesperson said:
The meeting was an opportunity to consolidate what was discussed in the recent trilateral meeting that the Prime Minister hosted at Chequers with President Karzai of Afghanistan and President Zardari of Pakistan. Discussion focused on the ongoing cooperation necessary to continue progress on the Afghan-led peace and reconciliation process, following the trilateral.
The two leaders also welcomed that a significant milestone had been crossed in the UK-Pakistan Joint Education Programme, which had helped more than one million Pakistani children to be enrolled in school in Pakistan since 2010.
