Prince Harry urges schools to sign up for competition
School Games President hopes London 2012 will inspire young people to get active.
Prince Harry has encouraged more schools to sign up for the Sainsbury’s School Games in an exclusive video message.
The Prince was appointed President of the Olympic-style competition following the first National Finals at the Olympic Park in May.
He said he was “absolutely delighted” to take up the role and that he believed sport was very beneficial to young people.
“I hope that young people all over the UK will feel inspired to follow in the footsteps of our Olympic heroes and get involved in sport,” Prince Harry says in the video.
“And, to every student out there who may not think sport is for them, I would simply say there’s no better time to have a go - try something different and start a sporting habit to last a lifetime.”
