Prosperity Programme in Mexico

The British Embassy Prosperity Fund Programme supports sustainable development, promotes economic reform and business innovation in Mexico. Over £6 million was allocated to Mexico between April 2016 and March 2017 and was invested in five sectors: energy, financial services, future cities, education and business environment. Our investments through this programme may exceed £50 million over the next four years.

We are working with Congress, public and private sectors, and also civil society. We have been sharing British experience with a view to stimulating sustainable economic growth and contributing to poverty reduction in Mexico. We also aim to produce greater opportunities for trade and investment between Mexico and the UK.

How to bid for funding

We are pleased to reaffirm the commitment of the British Government to invest in the future of Mexico and strengthen relations between both countries. Due to its size and responsibility, the Prosperity Programme requires rigorous approval and planning mechanisms, which means that we are not yet at a stage to be able to run a call for bids or to invite ideas from partners and implementers for the Prosperity Fund.

We will issue further communication with more information as soon as we have a confirmed timeline.
