A leading member of the Abu Dhabi community has been honoured by Her Majesty The Queen for services to British education.

A leading member of the Abu Dhabi community, Jean-Paul Pierre Villain has been honoured by Her Majesty The Queen for outstanding work in services to British Education and strengthening relations between the UK and the UAE.
Jean-Paul Pierre Villain was invested as an Honorary Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) on the evening of 7th April 2014 by the UK Ambassador to the UAE, Mr Dominic Jermey at the British Embassy Residence.
Jean-Paul Pierre Villain has been a volunteer Governor at the British School al Khubairat for nine years and his efforts have made an outstanding contribution in developing the British Community School in Abu Dhabi. Mr. Villain has also been honoured for promoting the important investment links between the UK and UAE through his hard work as Strategy Director for the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.
On presenting the award Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the UAE Dominic Jermey said:
Jean-Paul Pierre Villain is a dedicated and outstanding member of the community and has served to strengthen the close ties between Abu Dhabi and the UK. He has made a unique contribution to the British School in Abu Dhabi. Jean-Pierre has also contributed enormously to the investment partnership between Abu Dhabi and the UK through his significant work at ADIA. I am thrilled to see his service recognised in this way and extend my sincere congratulations to him on this richly deserved award.
UK honours are granted to deserving and high-achieving people from every section of the community and from overseas. The system rewards people for merit, service or bravery.
