Great Britain Week

Great Britain Week

Great Britain Week

GREAT Britain Week will run from 1-7 December. The objectives are:

  • To promote and publicise the British business presence in the country

  • To raise the profile of the British mission here.

The main events during the week will be:

  • Public launch event at Junction Square shopping centre (venue tbc)

  • Road show travelling to Naypyidaw, Mandalay and other cities

  • Educational theatre event with schoolchildren performing Macbeth

  • UK business showcase at the British Ambassador’s Residence

Media strategy

The overall media strategy consists of:

  • Paid-for advertising (billboards in Rangoon, and national and/or local print advertising)

  • Attracting news coverage for events in print, broadcast and radio.

Request for proposals

We are seeking proposals for the paid-for advertising element. Proposals should include public signage in Rangoon with high visibility and a print advertising element. Advertisements will be in English language only but both English language and Burmese language print media should be considered.

The aim of the advertising campaign will be to raise awareness of the brand and of GREAT Britain Week. Advertising should therefore be present in late November and the start of December. Precise dates should be included in proposals.

Proposals should where possible give:

  • Locations for billboards

  • Estimates of the number of people who will see different media.

Creative material will be supplied by UK Trade & Investment from existing artwork developed for the GREAT Britain Campaign.

See Great Brand Library for more information on the Campaign. It will also incorporate logos from our main sponsors: BG Group, Prudential, Standard Chartered, and Allen & Overy.

Budget

The indicative budget is US $15,000 for printing, production and media space. Proposals should be clearly itemised. They may also include suggestions for what could be achieved if additional funds were available.

Submitting a proposal

Please send proposals as an email attachment to john.frew@fco.gov.uk. The deadline for proposals is Thursday 14 November 2013.

All proposals should include confirmation that you will undertake this assignment in line with the Foreign and Commonwealth Offices’ standard terms and conditions. Please contact John Frew at the address above for further details.
