Reappointments to the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs
The Home Secretary has today announced the reappointment of Professor Owen Bowden-Jones as the chair of the ACMD.
It was announced today that Professor Owen Bowden-Jones had been reappointed by the Home Secretary as Chair of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD).
The ACMD’s role is to keep under review the situation with respect to drugs which are being, or appear likely to be, misused and of which the misuse is having, or appears capable of having, harmful effects sufficient to constitute a social problem.
The list of reappointments to the ACMD (between 2021 and 2023) includes:
Chair – reappointed to a third term of 3 years, ending on 31 December 2025.

2 members – reappointed to a second term of 3 years, ending on 2 August 2026.
