Details of recruitment for a Senior Safety Assessor in the Human and Environmental Safety Team.
This exciting and interesting job puts you at the heart of authorising veterinary medicines in the UK. You will be a senior assessor within the Human and Environmental Safety Team, part of the VMD’s Authorisations Division.
The primary focus of this role is assessment of data relating to human risk assessments, and secondary, the assessment of environmental safety.

£54,328 - £61,392 per annum with Pension Scheme

Commencing at 25 days
Role
You will be responsible for the Assessment of new Market Authorisations (MAs), extensions and variations to MAs.
This includes:
- Writing comprehensive assessment reports on the pharmacology, toxicology, and environmental aspects of active substances and formulations, in line with legislative timelines and international guidance documents
- Assessing other data types evaluated by the safety team to become an expert assessor in all relevant areas
You will also be required to:
- produce and present relevant training materials to VMD staff and external clients
- Occasionally overseas travel
- Lead on behalf of the VMD in national and international committees relevant to the role
