The British Embassy in Kuwait held the annual Remembrance Day service in the British Embassy’s gardens on the 11th of November. The service was attended by over 150 guests including representatives from over 35 countries.

Speaking at the event, Her Majesty’s Ambassador, Mathew Lodge, said:

Today is about Remembrance. It is not about politics or disputes, nor about competition or advantage. It is a day when we remember what has gone before, in the hope that we can help shape what comes ahead.

After the ceremony, Her Majesty’s Ambassador and Ambassadors representing countries from across the globe, including the EU and Commonwealth, laid wreaths at the War Memorial and observed a two-minute silence to commemorate the sacrifice of fallen soldiers from the First World War and all subsequent conflicts around the world.
